I believe that the mind is a very powerful tool. With it, you can do absolutely anything you want. If you believe traits of yours are undesirable, behave the opposite way. Behave the way you want to be. The more you utilize a trait, the more ingrained into your personality it will become.
It’s like learning a skill set.
Say, as a teenager, you enjoy painting. So you paint all the time. Every day after school, you rush to your bedroom, set up your easel, and amaze yourself with what colorful creations you muster into existence.
After graduation, you get your first job. Then you start college. Things get busier. After school now, you go to work. Then you come home and sleep, and repeat. You don’t paint as often.
After you graduate college, and land your dream job, you’re still busy. Setting up your life, going out on dates, and whatnot.
One day you think “hey, I used to paint lots, I’m going to do that now.” You give it a shot, and it’s hard. Your brush strokes aren’t as smooth as they used to be, and the image you create doesn’t look quite the way you wanted it to.
After so long of not utilizing your painting skill, it’s decreased. Not completely, but you’d have to spend more time practicing to get back to where you were.
Theoretically, some personality traits work the same way. Say you’ve always worn your heart on your sleeve. You’ve always been very frank with your emotions. Then events occur, wherein you feel you have to conceal them. It’s difficult. Extremely hard to not show what you’re feeling.
After a couple of years, it becomes easy. It becomes natural. You don’t even have to think about it.
Showing your emotions on the other hand, becomes increasingly difficult. Because you’re exercising your “mask” skill, rather than you “expressing” skill.
I rambled a lot, but what I’m trying to say is; if you don’t like something about your character, you can change it.

Draconic Astrology is an alteration of your Natal Chart, based on the position of your North Node, based on Absolute Longitude.
Absolute Longitude is sort of like Military Time. 2200 is 10pm. One is more specific, and the other one is used more frequently, and a little easier to use.
Absolute Longitude is a conversion of each degree of the Zodiac to the 360 total, with 0 being 0° Aries and 360 being 30° Pisces. For example;
17° Aries is 17° Absolute Longitude.
8° Taurus is 38° Absolute Longitude.
22° Libra is 202° Absolute Longitude.
28° Aquarius is 328° Absolute Longitude.
So, Draconic Astrology converts everything to Absolute Longitude, then subtracts the Absolute Longitude of your North Node from everything else.
If the North Node has a larger Absolute Longitude than the one it’s being subtracted from, and therefore yields a negative Absolute Longitude, then it just moves backwards. Here’s an example;
North Node is 8° Gemini -> 68° AL.
17° AL - 68° AL = - 58° AL, or 302° AL (which converts to 2° Capricorn)
38° AL - 68° AL = -30° AL, or 330° AL (which converts to 0° Pisces)
202° AL - 68° AL = 134° AL (which converts to 14° Cancer)
328° AL - 68° AL = 260° AL (which converts to 20° Scorpio)
I think they’re a very interesting way to look further into one’s psyche.

You must remember that you are a completely unique individual - different from almost everyone of your Sign out there, and every single sign  you encounter are unique from all others of that sign as well.
The Sign and House your Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Chiron, Vesta, Eros, Psyche, Pallas Athene, Ceres, Vulcan, Ceres, Juno, and about 17 other Asteroids. Whether or not any of those bodies are Dignified, Debilitated, Retrograde, or Afflicted. The Aspects between all the Planets, the dominant Aspect Type, the Aspect Pattern, if there is one. The Sign and House position of the North and South Nodes, the Four Liliths, the hundered or so arabic Parts, the Vertex and the Antivertex, and the Midpoints. The Sign position of the twelve House Cusps, whether or not any are Intercepted or Duplicated, your Dominant House Type, and Stelliums. Your Dominant Elements, Dominant Modality. The overall Natal Chart Shape. The Lord of the Figure, Almuten, and Lord of the Geniture, and more.
Then you have to factor in all the outside influences that shape which of those traits come into fruition. Our Natal Chart is the blank slate of character we are born with; the way these traits are used, misused, forgotten, or warped depends on our environment.
All the conditions that surrounded your mother from the moment of conception until your birth, and the circumstances of your birth. Your birth order, number of siblings, parents’ style of parenting, early childhood experiences, early adolescent experiences, experiences throughout your lifetime, romantic experiences, platonic experiences, mental health, physical health, living arrangements, living location, education history, education quality, job experiences, current life circumstances, current age, and so much more.
This all must then be applied to everyone you encounter; no two Natal Charts are the same, and no two individuals are the same. We are all unique. One must never judge an entire sign, or population, based on several negative or positive encounters with a few members.
Who you are even effects which type of people you meet. Your Descendant depicts which type of people you’re attracted to… and your Ascendant plays a role in which people are attracted to you. If people are attracted to confidence, they’ll likely show up more often to a person with a Fire Ascendant. If you’re wild and out partying and bar hopping - you’re more likely to meet a crazy Capricorn than a studious one, because they’re in a different environment.

It’s never about important or unimportant about Astrology. It’s just different functions, and different levels of influence.
Which seems nit-picky, but I will elaborate.
Every single part of your Natal Chart is important. Each adds to the collective data and tools you may choose to use.
However, some of those traits, data, and tools may pop up more often, more strongly, and/or more on the positive scale than others. This is when they are more influential.
At the same time, if a certain planet causes a lot of tension in us, it can become more influential in that way.
One way to gauge the Influence of a planet, is to assess it’s Dignity and Debility, through the Lord of the Geniture Scoring System.

You were born exactly when you were meant to be born.
A Doctor may have guessed a different day, but only you and the cosmos truly decided when you were ready to emerge! After all the “due date” really is just one person’s guesstimation.
Obviously, there are some cases where emergency c-sections were needed, but for the most part, we arrive in this world at precisely the moment we choose to. :)

When Ptolomy wrote the Tetrabiblos, or the first modern textbook on Astrology (which is basically the Astrological community’s equivalent to the bible) he described the functions of the Zodiac Signs, Planets, and Houses. He also introduced the theory of “Aspects.”
When he did his work, he did it based on twelve 30 degree sections of the sky (aka Asterisms) based on the 12 Zodiacal Constellations.
Modern Astronomers and Astrologers decided that since the constellation of Ophichus touched the ecliptic, it should be included in Astrology, since that’s what the other Signs were based on. They argued that due to the Earth’s rotation on it’s axis, the Sun doesn’t pass through the constellations as they did 3,000 years ago.
This has been widely rejected throughout the Astrological community. They continue to follow Ptolomy’s original works, with only slight modifications and additions (such as the discovery of new planets).
It’s a grandfather clause. Anyone born after 2009 would fall under the new Zodiac system with Ophiuchus included. Which is a tad silly, lol.
The Twelve Zodiac signs have a large amount of balance, coordination, etc, that makes them work like a fine-oiled machine. The addition of Ophiuchus would throw off all that work that that Ptolomy and so many others contributed to this applied science.
The polarities:
Aries-LibraTaurus-ScorpioGemini-SagittariusCancer-CapricornLeo-AquariusVirgo-Pisces
They’re opposites because they all lay 180 degrees apart, on opposite sides of the zodiac cycle.
Aries is March 21st - April 20, Libra is September 24 - October 23.
With Ophiuchus, Aries would be April 18- May 13, and Libra would be October 30 - November 23. They don’t quite line up the same way anymore.
And who would Ophiuchus’s opposite be? There would be 6 pairs - and Ophiuchus. Or 5 pairs, and one trio. Or 6 pairs, and a different sign left out.
According to this site, Ophiuchus does not have an opposite sign. So, 6 pairs - and Ophiuchus. Balance thrown off.
The Dualities:
Masculine Signs: Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, Aquarius.
Feminine Signs: Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces.
Once again, nice and even. Two groups, both with 6. Half displays more extrospective traits, the other more introspective.
The Modalities (Quadruplicities):
Cardinal Signs: Aries, Cancer, Libra, CapricornFixed Signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, AquariusMutable Signs: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces
Three groups, each with four, each from one element.
Where would Ophiuchus fall? There could be 2 groups of four, and 1 group of five. There could be 3 groups, and Ophiuchus.
According to this site, Ophiuchus is mutable. So there 2 groups of four, one group of five. Balance thrown off.
That even fucks with the name, since it’s called Quadruplicities because of groups of four.
The Triplicities:
Fire Signs: Aries, Leo, SagittariusEarth Signs: Taurus, Virgo, CapricornWater Signs: Cancer, Scorpio, PiscesAir Signs: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius
Four groups, each with three, each from one modality.
Where would Ophiuchus fall? There could be 3 groups of three, and 1 group of four. There could be 4 groups, and Ophiuchus. There could be 4 groups, and the removal of a different sign.
According to this site, Ophiuchus is Water. So there 3 groups of three, and one group of four. Balance thrown off.
According to this site, Ophiuchus stands as it’s own element, Ether. So 4 groups of three, and Ophiuchus on it’s own.
That even fucks with the name, since it’s called Triplicities, because of groups of three.
Then, there’s the matter of Planetary Ruler, Seasons, Body part, Erogenous Zone, and lots of other things that have been divided perfectly into 12 sections for thousands of years.

So the reason ophiucus is not included is because of tradition and the need to redesign current astrology norms? That is like denying a new discovered fact because it doesn’t fit our theory. Which is in no way a progress to knowledge :s

Nope! Ptolemy wrote about Ophiuchus - in his Astronomy books, not his Astrological books. So it’s not a “new discovered fact,” it’s as old as Astrology itself - and has never been a part of it.
Astrology has evolved over the ages! Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Eros, Vesta, Chiron, Ceres, Pallas Athena, Psyche, Vertex, the Nodes, Lilith, and lots of other things have been added into Astrology as Science has developed.
Ophiuchus isn’t one of those things, because it literally has no place. The main arguement for Ophiuchus can be summed up with - “it touches the ecliptic.”
The twelve zodiac signs are twelve 30 degree divisions of the ecliptic. They are based around the zodiac constellations, but not dependent on them. Ophiuchus’s “toe” touches the ecliptic - but that doesn’t mean a new division should be sliced out. Plenty of other constellations also touch the eclitpic. (I encourage you to read this)

There’s theories of nature vs nurture -
Nature suggests that your personality is set in stone when you are born.
Nurture suggests that your personality develops solely based on your environment.
Astrology (which I love) is a blend of both. Your personality can be predicted from the placements of celestial bodies in the heavens, and also understands that it can be shifted and affected by your environment.
Which is why I always say that so many other factors can affect your personality - and I always mention your upbringing, because how your parents raise you can definitely affect your personality.
Sometimes parents give their children similar traits as their own, sometimes they adjust the ones their children already have, either stronger or weaker.
For example; Aquarius are known for being rebellious. When raised by a parent who allows their freedom, but still sets down logical limits they are likely to be independent, but not as focused on rebelling against authority figures as an Aquarius who’s parents are more strict and restricting.
Similarly, Pisces need emotional support. In a family of mostly, say, Fire or Air Signs, they’ll likely cling more to their romantic partners, whereas a Pisces who’s parents give them that emotional support is likely to be more independent later in life.

Depression and Social Anxiety are not a personality traits. Depression is a Mood Disorder, and Social Anxiety a Thought Disorder. This is like asking me which Zodiac Sign may be most prone to being Schizophrenic, Alzheimer’s, pr Diabetic, or which most prone to having Leukemia, Cataracts, or Cerebral Palsy.
Illnesses and disorders are usually either genetic, or developed due to events during one’s life.
While Mental Illnesses and Disorders are seen in a more abstract light to physical ailments, they’re serious medical conditions nonetheless. Mental Illnesses They are often caused by heredity, imbalanced brain chemicals, or life events.
Astrology can predict potential personality traits and what influences one might encounter. It can not predict heredity, your brain chemicals, or what traumatic events you may encounter.
In summary: There is no correlation between Mental Illnesses, (Mood Disorders, Personality disorders, Thought Disorders, Eating Disorders) and Astrology.

I don’t think sexual orientation has anything to do with Astrology. Each Sign (every person) has the same potential to like the same sex, both sexes, the opposite sex, personalities, or no one. It’s completely personal preference, and not really something that can be predicted.
Just like your taste in music, favorite foods, clothing styles, etc can’t be predicted. They’re about you, personally, and not your Natal Chart. :)

It may have to do with your Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Ascendant, or any of the other parts of your Natal Chart. Your upbringing, family life, age, life circumstances, and a plethora of other variables may affect it.
The 12 Astrological signs give 12 different ways of living life. For example, the Aries are initiators while Taurus sustain (and can be quite stubborn). Etc…
Just because you are a specific sign doesn’t mean that you have to develop all the traits that your Sun sign in particular possesses, or are unable to develop other signs’ main characteristics.
Astrology is the potential to develop certain traits more than others. It is in no way meant to hinder who you are as a person.
